 Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is the fifth major release of Mac OS X (now named macOS), Apple's desktop and server operating system for Mac computers. Tiger was released to the public on April 29, 2005 for US$129.95 as the successor to Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. Some of the new features included a fast searching system called Spotlight, a new version of the Safari web browser, Dashboard, a new ‘Unified' theme, and improved support for 64-bit addressing on Power Mac G5s. Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger shocked executives at Microsoft by offering a number of features, such as fast file searching and improved graphics processing, that Microsoft had spent several years struggling to add to Windows with acceptable performance.

 You must have a Macintosh computer with:
 • a PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
 • a DVD drive
 • built-in FireWire
 • at least 256 MB of RAM
 • a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported
 by your computer
 • at least 3 GB of disk space available, or 4 GB if you install the developer tools

Updating your computer's firmware
You may need to update your computer's firmware. It's best to update the firmware before installing Mac OS X.
If you don't do this, you may see a message that you need to update your computer's firmware when you start the Installer. To update the firmware, you will need to quit the Installer and restart your computer using your current startup disk, then check the Software Updates website.
If you have problems with your computer after installing this version of Mac OS X, you might need to update the firmware even though you did not see a message when you installed the software. Check the Software Updates website for recent firmware updates for your computer.

Install Application Insert your Application CD into your CD-ROM drive. This CD can be found inside your Rosetta Stone Box in the CD wallet; it will be labeled Application. A window will automatically appear.
Please note that Apple silently dropped the autorun feature under Mac OS X, and that there is no hope to see such a feature again on the Macintosh platform. See below for more information. Create a project for a hybrid CD-ROM in the default mode (Project Mode). In the HFS view, select the file you want to use and do a right click.

Create a folder in your Applications folder called 'Longman iBT Prep 2.0 CD-ROM'.
Copy of software from the CD-ROM into this folder and eject the CD-ROM once done. 
Go to your Application folder and open the 'Longman iBT Prep 2.0 CD-ROM' folder. Double click on 'Longman iBT 2.0 Installer' to start the installation.
Follow the steps to complete the installation.
Once the installation is done, a shortcut called 'Longman iBT Prep 2.0' to open the software will be added to your desktop. 
Do not open the software, proceed to step 2.
Note: Opening the software will generate an error message.
Step 2: Edit software 'info.plist' file

Right click on the 'Longman iBT Prep 2.0' file and then click on 'Show Package Contents'
Click on 'Contents' folder and then open the 'info.plist' file.
Locate the line '/Volumes/Longman_iBT_Prep_2.0_CD-ROM/data/ibt2.xml ./ibt2.xml'
Change 'Volumes' to 'Applications'.
It should look like this once changed: /Applications/Longman_iBT_Prep_2.0_CD-ROM/data/ibt2.xml ./ibt2.xml
Save the file and close all windows.
Now, open the software using the software icon on your desktop.
